TheSkyX Student Edition is a program that offers many tools for astronomer training. When the program starts, it will try to show the same sky that it is visible from the part of the world you are currently in (the program will use the information stored in your computer to set the location, but you can also change the location from the "Input" option in the Menu). If you change the date in the internal calendar, the program will show you the sky for that given date.
By default, TheSkyX will show you the Terrestrial Sphere. This will be a picture of the sky as you should see it if you're looking through a window. You can choose to see the Celestial Sphere, which will show you just the stars and planets above your head. Then, you can zoom in or out any area of the sky, and get information about each object that your virtual telescope catches. The program also has built-in tours that will show you fascinating images and information about some elements and sights that you can view at a given season, or during a given time lapse. The information windows include photos of the planet and stars taken by the most advanced telescopes.
